Over 120 scientific experts from 90 organisations take part in the echo network, a social innovation foundation’s first-ever global summit in Bengaluru. The summit was hosted by the Tata Centre for Genetics and Society in the city.

Over 48 students from the echo network’s Sustainability Ambassadors Global Exchange (SAGE) Program also participated in the summit.

The summit aimed at developing ways to bring evidence-based knowledge to Indian communities. The summit also aimed at meeting its objectives through collaboration between companies, academia, government, NGOs and various communities.

The Senior SAGE Ambassadors representing 20 universities and various institutions from 6 countries presented their background research papers on problems at grassroots level under different categories among the communities.

The research papers presented were on the topics like OneHealth, Regenerative Agriculture, Ecosystem Valuation and Circular Bioeconomy.

The researchers were guided by over 75 instructors from the echo network for a duration of 10 weeks.

The founder and global director of the echo network, Shannon Olsson said, “The echo network has spent the last three years building a community through trust. Through hundreds of interactions between individuals from all walks of life, we have developed evidence-based projects that use science and technology to address current issues our communities are facing.”
