Over 50 poets from across the world will converge at the 7th edition of Bengaluru Poetry Festival 2023 to share their love for poetry.

The festival is spread over two days on August 5 and 6 at Grand Mercure in Gopalan Signature Mall on Old Madras Road in Bengaluru. The festival is being organised by Atta Galatta.

The festival aims at providing a platform for a dialogue on poetry and music. The festival also gives an opportunity for people and poetry lovers to learn from various interactive sessions and workshops held by experts at this event. Poetry lovers get to know their fellow poets and how they are making their mark in the world of poetry.

Poets and their poetry in various languages like English, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Urdu and Bengal will be featured at this event this year.

The festival will be inaugurated on August 5 with an opening session by legendary classical flautist Hariprasad Chaurasiya.

On the first day of the festival, celebrated artistes like Jerry Pinto, Tanuja Chaturvedi, Mita Vashisht, Shubha Mudgal and among others will take part and share their thoughts on poetry. On the second day, renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar, Padmavathi Rao and others will be participating.

Children’s Festival

An adjunct children’s festival will be held besides the main poetry festival at the event venue. Children’s poetry and activities like puppetry, storytelling and miming especially for children will be held as part of the children’s festival.

The festival is open to all and for free.
