Bengaluru police commissioner Dayananda pledges his eyes

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda has pledged his eyes to the Dr Raj Kumar Eye Bank. 

A certificate of appreciation was also issued to the top cop, acknowledging the altruistic act. 

It might be recalled that he had also forbidden his colleagues from gifting him flower bouquets and sweets. Instead, he had asked them to donate the same to orphanages. 

Such endeavours by the men in highest authority go a long way in influencing youngsters to walk on the same path. 

B Dayananda was appointed last year 

In May last year, after the Congress stormed back to power, he was made the Commissioner, replacing Pratap Reddy. 

He is an officer of the 1994 batch. He also possesses experience in traffic management and was also the joint commissioner of police (crime).

2015: Police commissioner of Mysuru city

2020: ADGP of Intelligence in Karnataka

1999–2008: Superintendent of Police in Vijayapura, Belagavi, Chitradurga, Dakshina Kannada, and Kolar districts
