In a late-night operation, Bengaluru city police conducted surprise inspections across over 17 dance bars and clubs, including prominent establishments such as Club One, Ramba, and Brigade Blue. The crackdown took place in and around areas like MG Road, Brigade Road, Upparpet, and central-western parts of the city, following complaints and intelligence reports regarding violations of regulatory norms.

The inspection teams, led by senior officials from the Central and West Divisions, were deployed across multiple police jurisdictions including Cubbon Park, Ashok Nagar, Upparpet, and SJ Park. During the raids, patrons and performers were asked to vacate the premises while police teams carried out detailed checks.
Key violations being looked into included extended operational hours beyond permitted limits (overtime), performers dressed in inappropriate or revealing clothing, and dance routines considered to breach decency standards. Officials also scrutinized the presence and demarcation of smoking zones, dress code compliance, and adherence to licensing terms.
The surprise checks were conducted based on prior reports of rules being flouted repeatedly in several dance bars. Senior officers instructed police stations to thoroughly verify if any establishments were operating without proper permits or breaching legal provisions.
Authorities have stated that action will be taken against those found guilty, and criminal cases may be registered where necessary. Dance bar owners have been warned to strictly follow regulations in future, and were reminded about the importance of maintaining public decency and safety standards.
