As Bengaluru gears up for New Year celebrations, the city’s police force is leaving no stone unturned to ensure safety and prevent criminal activities. In a major crackdown, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) raided several courier offices suspected of being involved in the delivery of drugs and narcotics. Acting on specific intelligence about illegal activities, the police conducted these raids as part of a broader strategy to curb the trafficking of illicit substances. Dog squads were pressed into service during the operation to detect contraband.

The raids form a critical component of the Bengaluru police's intensified vigilance measures during the holiday season. Alongside the courier raids, law enforcement inspected over 1,630 bars and restaurants across the city to ensure compliance with safety regulations and prevent any disturbances. Additionally, authorities interrogated rowdy elements to deter potential threats and took strict action against foreign nationals found overstaying in the city.
Earlier this week, the Bengaluru Police Commissioner Dayananda emphasized the department’s commitment to maintaining peace and safety, urging citizens to report any suspicious activities during the festivities. These proactive steps aim to create a secure environment for residents and visitors as the city prepares to ring in the New Year.
The courier raids underscore the police's focused efforts to dismantle networks facilitating illegal drug trade, sending a strong message against criminal activities.
