Bengaluru: Police come up with new idea to catch cyber criminals

    More than 10,000 cyber crimecases are being registered on an annual basis

    Four DCPs have been delegated the responsibility of tackling this problem

    Crimes pertaining to FedEx would be looked into by the DCP of East Bengaluru

The menace of cyber crimes in the city of Bengaluru is going beyond control. More than 10,000 cases are being registered on an annual basis. Citizens are being robbed of lakhs of rupees. Commissioner Dayananda has devised a new strategy to tackle this. 

Four Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) have been delegated the responsibility of tackling this problem. He emphasised on the registration, investigation and quick arrest of the culprits involved in such cases. He instituted 4 divisions to deal with cyber crimes. Each division would be headed by a DCP. 

The cases in the domain of Aadhar card related fraud would be handled by the DCP of North East Bengaluru Lakshmi Prasad. Crimes pertaining to FedEx would be looked into by the DCP of East Bengaluru Kuldeep Kumar Jain. Online job related fraud cases have been dispatched to the DCP of South Bengaluru Shivprakash Devraj. Sexual harassment cases would be dealt with by DCP of North Bengaluru Sachin Ghorpade. 

There are already more than thousand cases lying with each DCP. As of now there is sufficient delay in investigations, identification of criminals and recovery of money. The Bengaluru police are looking to improve their performance in this regard.
