Bengaluru Police, in collaboration with the Central Crime Branch (CCB), have launched a targeted operation to identify and detain undocumented foreign nationals residing illegally in the city. As part of the ongoing initiative, multiple individuals have been apprehended in recent days.

Among those detained, a Nigerian and a Senegalese national were found to have overstayed their visas and were transferred to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for further detention. In a related action, three citizens from Cameroon and one from Sudan were shifted to a secure holding facility after they failed to provide valid residential documentation.
Authorities also detained five additional foreign nationals already under investigation in connection with various narcotics-related cases. Investigators believe some of these individuals may have initially entered India using student or business visas before becoming involved in illegal activities.
The operation is part of a larger law enforcement strategy aimed at curbing crime linked to undocumented foreigners, particularly in relation to the drug trade. With rising concerns over the exploitation of visa categories and an uptick in drug-related offenses, police have increased surveillance efforts, including digital monitoring through specialized social media tracking teams.
Officials indicate that this drive is ongoing and forms a crucial part of efforts to reinforce public safety and uphold immigration laws. Further detentions and legal actions are expected as the operation progresses.
