The city has also seen the deportation of more than 200 foreign nationals involved in drug trafficking, as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle international and local drug networks.

The figures were highlighted during an awareness event held recently at Kanteerava Stadium on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The campaign, titled ‘Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs,’ brought attention to the state’s multi-pronged approach against drug abuse.
Law enforcement agencies have been working in collaboration with specialized units to monitor and intercept foreign nationals engaged in drug peddling. Educational outreach has also become a key pillar in the campaign. Police personnel regularly visit schools and colleges across the state to educate students about the dangers of drug use.
In a widespread awareness drive, more than 6.5 lakh students in Karnataka have received anti-drug education. Additionally, over 50,000 students from 500 colleges participated virtually in the event and pledged to stay away from drugs.
Authorities have mandated the formation of anti-drug committees in all colleges to enhance vigilance and prevention at the grassroots level. Senior police officials, including the Director General of Police and Bengaluru’s Police Commissioner, attended the event, reaffirming the state's commitment to curbing drug abuse.
