A double murder has unfolded in Bengaluru. The incident took place at 8 PM on 7th February in the Kumbara Pete region of Bengaluru. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Halasuru Gate Police Station. In the Srihari Marketing Office, 55-year-old Suresh and 68-year-old Mahendra were hacked to death. The accused named Bhadra has surrendered himself to the police. Property seems to have been the cause for the murder.
The reason for the murder was ascertained during a preliminary enquiry. Bhadra and Suresh were distant relatives. Suresh, who was an owner of a three-storey building, was running the Srihari Marketing Office. Bhadra was running a trust of the Kumbara community to which he belongs. He made multiple requests to Suresh to have his office registered to the trust. This eventually resulted in the tragedy the city witnessed. Bhadra entered the office with a knife. An argument turned ugly.
Mahendra attempted to stop Bhadra from carrying out the murder. He lost his life in this process. Mahendra had no previous affiliation to Bhadra. Bhadra surrendered himself to the Halasuru police soon after committing the crime.
The police are yet to conduct a detailed investigation. An angle relating to his wife’s relation with Suresh is also being explored.
