  • Businessman had lost 250 grams of gold and Rs 10 lakh from his home in theft
  • Police fail to crack the case even with a lie detection test on the suspect
  • With brain-mapping test, police establish the truth on theft by a housemaid

In a theft incident, a businessman had lost 250 grams of gold and Rs 10 lakh from his home.  He suspected that his house maid may have lifted it. But, the suspected housemaid had completely denied the allegations against her and initially she could not be found suspicious with the way she denied theft allegations against her.

However, the police investigations turned futile even after subjecting her to lie detection test, after getting permission for the same from the court, as she did not reveal the truth in this test. But, then with police subjecting her to a brain-mapping test, they found clues to establish the truth that it was she who had stolen the gold and cash from a house where she worked as a maid.

The accused has been identified as Annaporna who is a resident of Janata Colony in Gadag, she was working at a home here in Bengaluru as a housemaid.

The police took nearly a year to crack this theft case and the maid could not escape from the shackles of police.

Police have taken her into custody and recovered the stolen gold and money from her in a theft case registered against her by Honnachari who is a businessman in Bengaluru.

What is brain-mapping test and how it’s done?

Brain mapping, also known as Brain Electrical Oscillation Signature Profiling (BEOS) is a system in which police and forensic experts analyze brainwave frequency bandwidths and apply unique neuroscience techniques on suspects to find out if they recognize things from the crime scene to establish truth.

Here, in this theft case, police got a clue from her as she uttered the word ‘mama’, during her brain-mapping test, that referred to one of her relatives to whom she had handed over the stolen gold and money. Police took her relative into custody and after thorough interrogation the truth of theft was established by the police.
