As the studio ghibli trend gains momentum on social media, the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) has cleverly stepped into its popularity to caution riders against performing dangerous wheelie stunts. On Sunday, their official social media handles shared an AI-generated video, emphasizing that even in a ghibli-inspired world, wheelie remains dangerous.

The animated clip depicted a rider attempting a wheelie, accompanied by a warning which stated “Even in the whimsical world of Ghibli, wheeling is no fairytale - it’s dangerous and punishable. For your safety and the safety of others, follow traffic rules. Ride responsibly.” Additionally, the post featured real images of a rider being arrested for performing the stunt on Bengaluru’s busy streets.

While many social media users applauded the police for creatively using viral trends, others highlighted the broader traffic issues. Some questioned the lack of strict enforcement against violations such as driving in the wrong direction or breaking traffic laws daily. One commenter urged the authorities to impose hefty fines on offenders who disregard the law. The Bengaluru police has frequently warned commuters against performing such stunts, stating that they pose risks to public safety and could lead to FIRs being filed against violators.
Meanwhile, OpenAI's ChatGPT faced global outages as users rushed to generate Studio Ghibli-style avatars. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman acknowledged the overwhelming demand, revealing that their GPUs were struggling to handle the surge. "It's super fun seeing people love images in ChatGPT, but our GPUs are melting. We’re temporarily introducing rate limits while we work on efficiency. Hopefully, it won’t be long! Free-tier users will soon get three generations per day," Altman posted on X.
