Many daily commuters have expressed frustration over the sudden fare surge, citing financial strain and the lack of alternative transport options. The Opposition has also seized the opportunity to criticize the government’s handling of urban mobility costs.
Adding to the burden, the state transport department recently raised bus fares by 15% across all categories. The dual fare hikes have intensified concerns over the rising cost of public transportation in the city.
With public pressure mounting, BMRCL may be forced to reconsider the fare structure. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether adjustments will be made to ease the financial impact on commuters.
