  • The flyover would be the tallest in South India
  • It extends up to 3.2 kilometers
  • Construction of ramps is pending

The construction of the rail-cum-road flyover which would also incidentally be the tallest in south India at a height of 31 metres, located at the Jayadeva junction is near completion. It is envisioned that this project would ease the traffic related issues near the Silk Board. However what remains is the construction of ramps around the flyover.

The project is currently being implemented by the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The flyover would connect Ragiguda to the Central Silk Board and also provide connectivity to the R.V Road- Bommasandra metro line. The flyover would hence be double layered. The first layer would consist of 4 lanes whereas the second layer would have tracks for the metro line. The flyover would cover a stretch of 3.2 kilometres.

It is being predicted that this project would reduce signalling phases by half of what it is presently. However concerns still remain of whether this would merely shift the jam near the Raghavendra Math and if the option of positioning an exit at Bannerghatta Road could have been explored.
