In a strong show of support, Sri Veera Someshwara Swamiji of Rambhapuri Math has called for Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to be elevated to the Chief Minister’s position. Speaking at a religious event in Bijjahalli village of Kanakapura taluk, the seer urged the Congress high command to honour its earlier commitment and give Shivakumar the opportunity he deserves.

The occasion, which featured the Addapallakki festival and Ishtalinga Puja, saw the participation of Shivakumar, described by the seer as “the loved leader of the people of the state.” Praising Shivakumar’s spiritual outlook, the swamiji noted, “He speaks with a spiritual undertone that is rare among politicians.”
Highlighting Shivakumar’s role in the Congress’s electoral success, the seer added, “He worked tirelessly as KPCC president. Perhaps the party’s majority is due to his efforts. His dedication should be rewarded.”
Criticising the growing divisions in society along lines of caste, religion, and language, Rambhapuri Sri said, “Some politicians sow discord, but we need leaders like DKS who see everyone equally.”
The swamiji expressed hope that when the time is right, divine intervention would guide Shivakumar to a higher position. “May DKS get the CM post,” he declared, urging the Congress leadership to take a timely and just decision.
The remarks have added fresh momentum to ongoing debates within the party over leadership roles.
