The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made significant revelations in the investigation of the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru, shedding light on the involvement of ISIS and the meticulous planning behind the attack. According to sources, the suspects, including Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Taha, Maaz Muneer Ahmed, and Muzammil Shareef, were trained online by ISIS for one week on bomb-making techniques. During this time, they also purchased raw materials required to assemble Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The NIA probe further revealed that within the same week, the suspects planned multiple attacks, including the use of a cooker bomb in Mangaluru, a bomb near a BJP office, and the IED placed at the Rameshwaram Cafe. All devices were rigged with a 90-minute timer. While the bombs failed to detonate at two locations, the device planted at the cafe successfully exploded, injuring several people.
The suspects had been trained in bomb assembly and placement, using online resources. The NIA's investigation points to the group’s involvement in coordinated efforts across multiple cities, underlining the dangerous reach of ISIS in India. Charges have been filed against the suspects under various sections, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act.
