The police are exploring multiple angles in the investigation of the bomb blast in Rameshwaram Cafe in Indiranagar. Why the Rameshwaram cafe was a target for the suspected terrorists remains a key question.
The investigation has revealed that a lot of planning has gone into the attack. The suspect arrived in a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Volvo bus. He is believed to have done a recce of the location before placing the bomb. It is suspected the planning for the attack started 3 months before the bomb went off. They are said to have had information about when the cafe has a higher density of customers and the precise placement of the CCTV cameras and the blind spots that they could use to their advantage. Furthermore, the escape route after placing the bag was also mapped out. In this regard, there is a possibility that in the scenario wherein they are caught, the terrorists might have devised ways to keep other details of the plan a secret.
The cafe which was being treated as a crime scene has now undergone a thorough round of cleaning by the police. More than 20 officials were involved in this. The cafe owner Raghavendra has reiterated that the angle of professional rivalry can be ruled out in this case.
