A bike taxi ride in Bengaluru took a violent turn when a young woman passenger was allegedly assaulted by the rider after a dispute during the journey. The incident occurred on a ride booked through the Rapido app from BTM Layout to Jayanagar 3rd Block.

The woman has filed a police complaint at the Jayanagar station, accusing the rider, identified as Suhas, of misbehaving with her and later slapping her in public. According to the complaint, the rider did not follow traffic rules and rode recklessly, leading to an argument between the two. Upon reaching the destination, the disagreement escalated into a physical altercation.

Police investigations revealed that during the confrontation, the woman struck the rider with a tiffin box, after which he retaliated by slapping her. The sequence of events is currently under review as officials examine CCTV footage and collect statements from both parties.

The incident has raised questions about the safety protocols of app-based bike taxi services and the behavior of drivers during disputes. Authorities have initiated a probe and are expected to take appropriate legal action based on findings.

Rapido has not issued a formal response yet. The case has sparked concern among commuters about safety and accountability during rides.
