Road rage incidents are on the rise in Bengaluru, with multiple cases of fights, abuse, and assaults being reported daily. Disputes over giving way, overtaking, and reckless driving have led to violent confrontations, often resulting in police complaints. Here are some recent cases highlighting the growing menace:

Case 1: BMTC driver attacked (Nov 24, 2024)

A BMTC bus driver was assaulted near Haleguddadahalli on Mysore Road after a rider, who overtook the bus, got angry when the bus did not stop despite the vehicles touching. The incident led to a complaint at the Byatarayanapura Police Station.

Case 2: Car driver assaulted with a Weapon (Feb 25, 2025)

A violent altercation occurred on MG Road after a dispute over a missing car side door. The situation escalated into a riot-like fight, with one driver allegedly attacking the other with a metal weapon.

Case 3: Youth Congress leader harassed (Feb 27, 2025)

Akshata Ravikumar, General Secretary of the Youth Congress, was subjected to obscene gestures near Gopalan Mall. A brawl ensued when she confronted the offenders for violating traffic rules. An FIR was filed in Chamarajpet.

Case 4: BMTC vs. Auto driver fight (March 7, 2025)

A heated fight broke out near Bone Mill Bus Stand on Hesaraghatta Road between a BMTC driver and an auto driver over a right of way dispute.

Case 5: Assault in Jayadeva (March 10, 2025)

A road rage incident near Jayadeva resulted in an FIR at Sadduguntepalya police station. A driver was attacked and left bleeding after a dispute over giving way.

Authorities urge citizens to stay calm and report aggressive drivers to prevent further violence.
