Residents of Doddanekundi complain to BMRCL on experiencing jolts and jerks in their buildings while heavy metro construction works are being carried out in their vicinity.
The ongoing metro construction work for Blue Line of the ORR-Airport Metro Line at Doddanekundi is affecting the buildings in its vicinity. This metro line consists of two sections - Phase-2A (From Silkboard to KR Puram) and Phase-2B (From KR Puram to Airport). The line is around 55km long and connects the Central Silk Board with the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
Experts ask the BMRCL to conduct structural integrity testing of buildings to ensure there is no damage caused to buildings located near Metro constructions through third parties and also make this as part of their project.
Residents have been facing these issues ever since the construction work of metro began in their area. With this the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has come under the scanner on what measures it is taking to safeguard the properties during the ongoing construction work of metro in surrounding areas.
Residents also question BMRCL on who will be held accountable for any damages if caused to their properties that are in the close proximity to metro work.
Residents also alleged that the metro construction work carried out during night is affecting them without having peace at night to have sound sleep. There is even a High Court order directing officials to carry out noisy construction activities only during the day and not between 10 pm to 6 am.
