An instance of robbery undertaken in the guise of being police officers has been reported from the Peenya police station. The incident unfolded in the HMT Layout in Peenya. The house belonged to the owner of a packaging company named Manohar.
The robbers were dressed as police officers. 700 grams of gold and Rs 60 lakh in cash were stolen. The robbery took place when Manohar was not in the house.
His wife Sujatha and son Roopesh were in the house. They stated that a conflict of Manohar with his siblings is what brought him to their house. Sujatha and Roopesh were then threatened with daggers and knives. Roopesh was even attacked before they commenced the robbery.
The robbery took place at around 7:30 P.M on 4th December. The robbers procured the CCTV footage and the DVR device before fleeing from the spot. 5 to 6 individuals are suspected to have been involved in this crime.
Roopesh had suffered from minor injuries in this incident. He is being treated for the same in a private hospital. An F.I.R has been registered in this case in the Peenya police station. The police officials examined the house as part of their investigation.
