Fresh allegations of financial irregularities have emerged over the maintenance of a park located in Basaveshwaranagar. Social activists have raised concerns that monthly maintenance bills, amounting to over Rs 1.85 lakh, are being generated for tasks that appear minimal and routine.

The park, inaugurated in 2023 and built at a cost of Rs 28 lakh, is reported to be in good condition. However, claims suggest that only one security guard is deployed, watering is done once daily, and BBMP workers handle waste clearance. Despite this, massive monthly bills are being presented under the pretext of “maintenance.”
Activist Arun Parmesh has strongly questioned the rationale behind such high recurring costs when no significant work appears to be taking place. He further alleged that BBMP is not transparent about the expenses, particularly regarding the procurement of protective gear and equipment. At a time when many parks under BBMP remain neglected and in poor condition, such lavish spending on a well-maintained space has stirred public anger.
