The South Western Railway is getting a smart touch. Under the Amruth Bharat Station Scheme, developmental works for the railway department will take place. Rs 37,312 crore have been allocated for 15 stations that fall under the ambit of South Western Railways. They lie in the Bengaluru division. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the projects on 26th February through video conferencing. Escalators, smart parking, toilets and several other facilities will be developed as part of the project. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) for Southwest Railway released a statement to the press with regard to this. 

The breakdown of the allocation per railway station is as follows 

  • Bangarpet Railway Station: Rs 21.5 crore 
  • Channapatna Railway Station: Rs 20.9 crore
  • Dharmapuri Railway Station: Rs 25.4 crore 
  • Doddaballapur Railway Station: Rs 21.3 crore 
  • Hindupur Railway Station: Rs 23.9 crore 
  • Hosur Railway Station: Rs 22.3 crore 
  • Kengeri Railway Station: Rs 21 crore 
  • Krishnarajapuram Railway Station: Rs 21.1 crore 
  • Kuppam Railway Station: Rs 17.6 crore 
  • Malleshwaram Railway Station: Rs 20 crore 
  • Malur Railway Station: Rs 20.4 crore 
  • Mandya Railway Station: Rs 20.1 crore 
  • Ramanagara Railway Station: Rs 21 crore 
  • Tumkur Railway Station: Rs 24.1 crore 
  • Whitefield Railway Station: Rs 23.3 crore
