In a significant contribution to pediatric healthcare, the State Bank of India (SBI) donated a state-of-the-art Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) dialysis machine to St. John’s Medical College Hospital recently. The CRRT machine, a vital asset in critical care nephrology, was formally handed over by SBI’s Chief General Manager, Joohi Smita Sinha, to the hospital’s management. The event saw the presence of key dignitaries, including Rev. Fr. Jesudoss Rajamanickam, Director of St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, alongside senior medical professionals and bank officials.

Designed to cater to critically ill pediatric patients, the CRRT machine will be instrumental in treating children who are too unstable for conventional dialysis. This advanced technology allows for continuous and slow blood purification, making it particularly beneficial for infants and young patients suffering from acute kidney failure or severe metabolic disorders.

By equipping St. John’s Medical College Hospital with this specialized dialysis machine, SBI’s initiative aligns with its corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at enhancing medical infrastructure. The move is expected to improve treatment outcomes for young patients in need of intensive renal care, reinforcing the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening healthcare accessibility.
