Typically, temperatures start rising in March, but this year, the heat has intensified since late January. The warmer-than-usual weather has impacted daily life, making outdoor activities uncomfortable for many residents.

Despite the soaring temperatures, the IMD has clarified that this does not indicate an early onset of summer. However, warm conditions are expected to persist for over a week. Meteorologists attribute this trend to changing weather patterns, with dry conditions and a lack of strong winds contributing to the heat.

Several parts of Karnataka are also witnessing higher-than-normal minimum temperatures, adding to the discomfort. Residents have expressed concerns over the unseasonal warmth, with many seeking relief through increased use of fans, coolers, and hydration measures.

Experts suggest that while the current spike is temporary, it highlights the broader impact of climate variations. The IMD continues to monitor the situation and advises residents to take precautions against heat-related discomfort. Meanwhile, Bengaluru waits to see if March brings its usual seasonal shift.
