Bengaluru is set to introduce a seamless multi-modal transport system, enabling commuters to travel via auto-rickshaws, buses, and metro trains using a single QR code on their smartphones.

The integration, driven by private mobility platforms Tummoc and Namma Yatri, will be powered by open data from the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).

The system, expected to be operational in a few months, will enhance first and last-mile connectivity by allowing users to book auto-rickshaws in advance, synchronized with real-time public transport schedules. This initiative was a key focus at Namma Raste, a mobility event hosted by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in partnership with the World Resources Institute (WRI).

Experts at the event emphasized the necessity of open data and integrated ticketing to improve urban mobility. They highlighted that efficient public transport requires seamless coordination between public and private operators, ensuring accessibility within minutes.

In addition to transport integration, Bengaluru is also developing OneTAC, a platform designed to streamline cultural and recreational experiences in the city. The initiative aims to connect users with events, tourism, and arts, providing a cohesive digital guide. A pilot project is currently underway, with a proof of concept expected in 60 days.

These advancements mark a significant step towards a smarter and more connected Bengaluru.
