A tragic road accident near Surya City, Bengaluru, has claimed the life of Sub-Inspector Maibub Guddalli of the Talaghattapura Police Station. The incident took place on June 24 while he was escorting two accused in a ganja case from Attibele.

According to police sources, SI Maibub and his team had arrested the suspects and were bringing them back in a car. Near Surya City, Maibub Guddalli stepped out of the vehicle to attend a phone call. At that moment, a speeding truck approached from behind and rammed into him, causing severe injuries.

The impact was so strong that two of the arrested suspects managed to escape from the spot immediately after the accident. Fellow officers rushed the injured sub-inspector to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later during treatment.

The unexpected death of SI Maibub Guddalli has cast a pall of gloom over the Talaghattapura Police Station and the entire department. Senior officials have expressed their condolences to his family and vowed to track down the escaped accused at the earliest. A special team has been formed to search for the two suspects who fled the scene.

The department has also appealed to the public to share any information about the escaped men to help bring them back into custody.
