  • A case of staged car accident comes to light in Bengaluru
  • The accident was caught on the car's dash camera
  • A pedestrian was seen deliberately falling onto a car’s bonnet

A shocking case of an orchestrated accident scam was caught on a dashcam in Bengaluru’s KR Puram, where a pedestrian was seen deliberately falling onto a car’s bonnet in an attempt to stage an accident. The viral video has sparked widespread outrage, exposing the growing menace of such fraudulent activities in the city.

In the footage, a man covered in red stains, seemingly depicting blood, is seen waiting near the road before suddenly stepping into the vehicle’s path and collapsing. The dramatic act was intended to simulate an accident, likely to extort money from unsuspecting motorists. However, the dashcam footage revealed the scam in real-time, preventing any false claims from being made.

This incident follows a similar case reported earlier in Whitefield, where another individual was caught on camera stepping onto the road and pretending to be hit by a moving car. The recurrence of such incidents has raised concerns about an emerging trend of staged accidents targeting vehicle owners.

Experts warn that orchestrated accidents have become a method used by fraudsters to exploit legal loopholes and insurance claims. Authorities are urging vehicle owners to install dashcams to protect themselves from false allegations and are considering stricter measures against such fraudulent practices.

Police are investigating the incident and have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to curb this growing scam.
