Among the ten victims of Tuesday’s tragic stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium was Divyanshi, a 14-year-old girl from Kannur, Yelahanka, who had gone to see her favorite RCB stars. A Class 9 student, Divyanshi was accompanied by her relatives, unaware that the day would end in heartbreak.

According to family sources, four members had left for the stadium earlier in the day. Divyanshi, the daughter of Shivakumar and Ashwini, had been excited about the RCB victory and wanted to witness the celebration. Her aunt Rachana and another relative accompanied her to the venue.
However, as the crowd swelled and control measures failed, panic broke out outside the gates. In the chaos that followed, Divyanshi was caught in the crush. She was rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead.
Her grandmother broke down, unable to believe that the child she raised with such care and love was taken away in a moment of celebration turned tragedy.
Divyanshi’s story has become a heartbreaking symbol of a larger failure — of poor planning and crowd management at a public event that should have brought only joy. Her death has sparked outrage and grief, with many demanding accountability for the preventable loss of young lives.
