A stampede at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium left several people injured, with many rushed to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital for emergency treatment. However, the hospital is now facing serious allegations of negligence and delayed response in treating the injured.

According to the accusations, when the victims arrived at the hospital, there was a shortage of medical staff. Despite visible injuries to hands and legs, patients reportedly had to wait for hours for scanning procedures. Some claim that even after eight hours, no specialist doctors had attended to them.
In response, Bowring Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Kemparaju issued a detailed clarification. He stated that clear instructions were given early in the morning to ensure the availability of doctors, nurses, and specialist surgeons. He also said that around 4:30 PM, two seriously injured individuals arrived at the casualty ward but were already unresponsive upon arrival.
Dr. Kemparaju added that a larger group of injured victims followed shortly after and were attended to promptly. He denied all allegations of negligence, calling them baseless. He further clarified that the hospital's radiology department was fully active and that both CT scans and X-rays were conducted without delay.
The incident has sparked debate over hospital preparedness and response to emergencies, even as officials continue to assess the situation.
