The Horticulture Department has implemented a stringent set of regulations at Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park to preserve its natural environment and maintain public decorum. A comprehensive ban now applies to all forms of photo shoots—including pre-wedding sessions, modelling, and baby showers—as well as fortune-telling activities and any staging within the park.
Any group activity or event involving more than 20 participants must now obtain prior approval from the department. This move follows repeated violations of earlier restrictions, particularly unauthorised photo shoots that disrupted the park’s tranquility and inconvenienced other visitors.

The use of plastic materials—such as bags, bottles, and pooja items—has been strictly restricted. Crackers, food stalls, vending, and activities contributing to noise or air pollution have also been prohibited.
To enforce compliance, authorities have deployed additional security personnel and installed discreet CCTV cameras throughout the park. Officials have also barred smoking, littering, and bringing food parcels. Public conduct rules further prohibit parking in non-designated areas, honking, climbing trees, flying kites, and organising events or meetings without permission.
Heavy vehicles, including buses, lorries, and auto-rickshaws, are no longer allowed within internal park roads. Violators face fines up to ₹500, with repeat offenders subject to legal action.
Collected penalties will be directed to the Suvarna Karnataka Udyana Pratishtana fund. The department is launching awareness drives and installing clear signage to ensure visitors understand the new rules.
