The Manganahalli Primary School in Kodigehalli which falls under the Bengaluru North Taluk conducts classes for students up to class 5. Currently 37 students are enrolled in the school. However, 2 years back, there were 70 students.
The reduction in enrollment is being linked to the appointment of Mangala as a teacher. She has been accused of not fulfilling her duties in an earnest manner. The students have alleged that Mangala falls asleep or is busy with her mobile phone very often. It is being reported that Mangala is not aware of multiplication tables.
Mangala supposedly had the students beaten up by her husband when they questioned her over her lack of commitment. Her husband is said to have been sneaked into the school premises when the headmaster was not around.
The students have also complained about being forced to clean toilets. Mangala has however refuted all the allegations. She has put the blame on students for not heeding to her words.
