In a tragic incident, a senior software professional working with Lenovo, identified as Prashant Nair (40), died by suicide at his residence in the DX Smart Nest Apartment in Chikkabanavar, Bengaluru. Initial reports suggest alleged harassment by his wife as a possible reason behind the extreme step.

Prashant, who had been married to Pooja Nair for 12 years, is survived by his 8-year-old daughter. Pooja is employed with a leading tech company, Dell. According to sources, the couple had been facing significant marital issues in recent months, marked by frequent disagreements and emotional distress.

On the day of the incident, Prashant’s parents reportedly attempted to reach out to him multiple times, but his calls went unanswered. Concerned about his son’s well-being, Prashant’s father visited the apartment, only to discover that he had taken his own life by hanging.

Family members have alleged ongoing mental and emotional harassment by Pooja as a contributing factor to Prashant’s death. The Soladevanahalli Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Statements are being recorded and further inquiries are underway.

This heartbreaking case has once again highlighted the impact of mental health struggles and domestic discord, prompting calls for stronger support systems within families and workplaces.
