A Bengaluru-based software professional recently walked out of a job interview after being asked to draw the Indian flag and the Ashoka Chakra using CSS, a front-end web development language. The techie, with 10 years of experience in front-end technologies like Angular, JavaScript, and HTML, shared her frustration in a post on Reddit.

According to her post, the interview took place at a small company near her residence. Having extensive industry experience, she expected questions that would assess her logical thinking, problem-solving skills, or knowledge of advanced concepts. Instead, she was tasked with drawing the Indian flag using CSS after answering several theoretical questions.

Though she found the request odd, she complied and completed the task. The interviewer then asked her to create the Ashoka Chakra, followed by a demand to add the intricate spikes to it. At this point, the candidate grew frustrated and challenged the interviewer on the relevance of such a task.

The interviewer responded that it was a way to test her CSS knowledge, but the techie found the question inappropriate for her experience level, comparing it to college practical exams. Feeling irritated, she chose to quit the interview, expressing her disappointment over the process.

The post sparked discussions online, with many users questioning the relevance of such tasks in professional interviews.
