An innovative AI tool, RotiChecker.ai, designed to rate the roundness of chapatis, has taken social media by storm. Developed by Animesh Chouhan, an IIT Kharagpur graduate, the project started as a lighthearted experiment but quickly turned into an internet sensation, leaving users both amused and divided.

The idea gained traction when a user posted a picture of her perfectly round roti, calling it an "art." Intrigued, Animesh put the image through his AI model, which rated it an impressive 91 out of 100. Encouraged by the response, he threw a challenge to social media—if his post received 420 likes, he would make the tool public. The target was swiftly met, and searches for "roti maker" spiked as curiosity soared.

While many found the concept humorous, others suggested new AI ideas, such as a tool to evaluate chai color accuracy. However, the project soon faced criticism. Some accused the AI of being misogynistic, claiming it was designed to judge women’s cooking skills. Animesh dismissed the claims, highlighting that men had also used the tool.

Despite the mixed reactions, RotiChecker.ai has undeniably caught the internet’s attention. The website teases users with a playful tagline, hinting at further developments. Whether seen as entertaining or unnecessary, the tool proves that even a simple chapati can fuel a heated tech debate.
