Bengaluru: Tenant assaults woman for seeking rent

A bizarre incident unfolded in the Muneshwara Nagar area in Bengaluru. 

Sridevi resided in a residence owned by Fayaz. Fayaz had also rented accommodation to Nazir. Sridevi was tasked with collecting from Nazir and handing it over to Fayaz who stays in a foreign country. Nazir had defaulted in his payment of rent for 3 consecutive months. This had led to a confrontation between him and Sridevi. It is being reported that Sridevi’s tone indicated aggression and Nazir felt disrespected because of it. He disclosed to his son, Saddam about this exchange.

 This had apparently infuriated Saddam. Saddam barged into Sridevi’s residence. He caused injuries to her face and her hand by striking her with a knife. 

A case has been registered in the Bandepalya police station pertaining to this issue. Saddam has been arrested by the Bandepalya police. Investigations are underway pertaining to the case. The incident occurred a while back but has come to the forefront only recently.
