A tender coconut vendor near Ulsoor lake in Bengaluru had a one-moment-in-time of his life as he offered a tender coconut to Bill Gates.

Bill Gates, during his recent visit to Bengaluru and when he attended an awareness campaign organised by India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), had bought a tender coconut from a vendor nearby.

Gates who was at the bank wanted to know how the postal department payment system worked and the bank staff had decided to do a test purchase from a coconut vendor nearby.

Following which a 40-year-old tender coconut vendor Hari Babu with his coconut pushcart, was in great surprise for selling tender coconut to the billionaire. He was over the moon with his moment with Bill Gates as he sold tender coconut to a man, about whom he had read in the newspaper for being the richest man in the world. He could not believe that he had a moment with this great man.

People accompanying Bill Gates had paid Hari Babu Rs 50 through UPI for buying a tender coconut from him.

Gates complemented Hari Babu by saying "Thank you" for the tender coconut, to which Hari Babu politely replied "You are welcome!".

Hari Babu is a resident of Byappanahalli and has been selling tender coconut for the past 22 years near Ulsoor lake in the city.
