  • CCB received a tip off from IB
  • CCB has 15-day police custody of suspects
  • Channels through which explosives were transported to be investigated

The Information Bureau (IB) was investigating a hawala related case. They uncovered this plan in the process and subsequently IB informed the Central Crime Branch (CCB) about the issue. Based on this information, the CCB arrested the 5 suspects. The suspects had been staying at a rented house in Sultanpalya for 1-2 months. Family members, house owners related to the suspects and residents of the area have been left completely traumatised.

It is suspected that they had planned to carry out explosions bigger than what happened in 2008. In 2017, they had been lodged in the Parapanna Agrahara over a murder that occurred due to business rivalries. It was over dinner while being lodged in the same block that Nazir initiated the individuals into such activities. What were the channels through which such explosives reached the individuals would be something the CCB would aim to understand through the 15 day police custody of the 5 accused.
