Several theatres in Bengaluru have canceled the early morning and midnight screenings of Pushpa 2 after the district commissioner raised concerns over violations of the Karnataka Cinema Regulation Act. The Act mandates that movies should only be screened after 6:30 am, but some theatres had been showing the film as early as 3 am.

In response, the district administration had written to the Bengaluru Police Commissioner and the Rural SP, urging them to take action against the 43 theatres involved. The administration expressed concerns about the legality of these early screenings and the potential violation of established cinema regulations.

Along with the unauthorized timings, it was reported that tickets for these screenings were being illegally sold on online platforms like BookMyShow, further complicating the issue.

In light of the controversy, affected audiences will have their ticket amounts refunded or adjusted for other showings. The movie’s screenings will now take place at the legally permitted time of 6 am.

The district administration has emphasized the need for strict adherence to the rules, urging cinema authorities and police to ensure that all screenings of Pushpa 2 comply with legal guidelines. The incident has stirred up debates among fans and regulators, casting a shadow over the movie’s grand release.
