Bengaluru is set to witness a revolution in last-mile logistics with the introduction of drone deliveries by Skye Air. The hyperlocal drone delivery network has launched its rapid drone service in the city, making it the second in India after Gurugram to implement advanced aerial logistics.

Residents in the Konankunte and Kanakapura Road areas can now receive deliveries in just seven minutes, significantly reducing transit times compared to conventional road-based methods. The initiative is expected to enhance the efficiency of e-commerce and quick commerce services while promoting sustainability.
The company, which already partners with logistics giants like Bluedart, DTDC, and Shiprocket, currently focuses on e-commerce and quick-commerce deliveries, with plans to expand into food delivery. The service operates via Skye Ship One, a high-capacity drone capable of carrying up to 10 kg. It navigates through a designated air corridor, bypassing road congestion, and employs an automated winch system to lower packages safely to the ground.
Beyond speed, Skye Air’s drone deliveries contribute to environmental sustainability by significantly reducing carbon emissions. The firm estimates that each delivery saves 520 grams of CO₂, with large-scale deployment potentially eliminating thousands of metric tonnes of emissions annually.
With Bengaluru embracing drone logistics, the initiative signals a shift toward a smarter and more eco-friendly future, positioning the city at the forefront of drone-powered commerce in India.
