Bengaluru to face widespread power cuts in over 70 localities on July 22 and 23 for maintenance work

Several areas across Bengaluru are set to experience scheduled power outages on July 22 and 23 due to urgent maintenance by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has confirmed the planned disruptions, which will affect more than 70 localities.

On Tuesday, July 22, power will be cut from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in regions covered by the 66/11kV Vidya substation. Affected areas include Mahalakshmi Nagar, Kataraya Nagar, Soap Factory Layout, and Vijaya Lakshmi Layout. Other impacted zones include Andanappa Layout, BTS Layout, Siddeshwara Layout, Sasuveghatta, Soladevanahalli (partially), and Tarabanahalli Main Road.

The next day, Wednesday, July 23, outages will occur between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM under the 66/11kV Sahakaranagar substation’s jurisdiction. Key areas affected include A, E, F, and G Blocks, Bellary Main Road, Talakaveri Layout, and Amruthahalli. Additional localities facing disruptions are Navya Nagar Block, Shabari Nagar, Sampigehalli, Agrahara Village, and GKVK Layout. Agrahara Layout, Kogilu Layout, Arkavathi Layout, and Srinivaspura Jakkur will also be impacted, along with VRL Road and IAS Road.

BESCOM emphasized that this maintenance activity is essential to ensure long-term reliability and stability of Bengaluru’s power infrastructure. Residents in affected areas are advised to plan accordingly and minimize dependence on electricity during the outage periods.
