The BMTO will be developed in partnership with Bengaluru Airport City Limited, a subsidiary of Bengaluru International Airport Limited. The purpose-built campus, spanning 86,000 square feet, will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, practical training labs, and a team of qualified trainers. It is expected to begin operations by mid-2026.
The initiative is part of Air India’s long-term goal to create a self-reliant aviation ecosystem by producing skilled aircraft maintenance engineers. The training will align with industry standards while meeting Air India’s specific needs.
In the interim, Air India will launch a Cadet AME program in collaboration with established institutions in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, ensuring continuity in workforce development and support for its growing fleet. The BMTO represents a key step in building a future-ready aviation industry in India.
