As part of a statewide campaign to combat drug abuse, the Bengaluru City Police, in coordination with the Karnataka State Police, will conduct a large-scale anti-drug awareness event at Kanteerava Stadium on June 26. The initiative falls under the directive of the Director General and Inspector General of Police, aiming to intensify efforts against the growing threat of substance abuse among youth.

The event will bring together more than 6,000 college students from various institutions across the city, along with numerous non-governmental organisations working in the field of drug prevention and rehabilitation. Participants will engage in awareness activities, including presentations led by student groups showcasing anti-drug initiatives implemented within their colleges.
Designed to create widespread public awareness and foster community involvement, the programme is expected to be one of the largest of its kind in the state. The event will also see the presence of key government officials, including the Home Minister of Karnataka, who will preside over the proceedings.
Organisers hope that the event will inspire continued dialogue and long-term strategies for drug deterrence through education, youth participation, and community collaboration. The gathering at Kanteerava Stadium will mark a significant step in the state’s ongoing efforts to address drug-related issues through proactive, preventive measures.
