Swiggy, a leading food delivery platform, has unveiled a compelling report highlighting vegetarian food trends across India.

According to the internal analysis, Bengaluru emerges as the city with the highest number of vegetarian orders. Dubbed the “Veggie Valley,” Bengaluru accounts for one in every three vegetarian Swiggy orders. The top vegetarian dishes in this Silicon Valley of India are Masala Dosa, Paneer Biryani, and Paneer Butter Masala.

Mumbai follows closely behind as the second city with the highest vegetarian orders. In Mumbai, Dal Khichdi, Margherita Pizza, and Pav Bhaji top the list of popular vegetarian dishes. Hyderabad secures the third spot, with Masala Dosa and Idli leading the vegetarian food orders.

Swiggy’s report offers a pan-India perspective, revealing that six out of the top ten most-ordered dishes nationwide are vegetarian. Masala Dosa, Paneer Butter Masala, Margherita Pizza, and Pav Bhaji feature prominently among the favorites.

The analysis also highlights breakfast as the “golden hour for vegetarian orders,” with over 90% of breakfast orders on Swiggy being vegetarian. Additionally, the report shows that over 60,000 vegetarian salads are ordered weekly on the platform.

Swiggy released these insights as part of its inaugural Green Dot Awards, celebrating restaurants that excel in vegetarian cuisine across India.
