In an assertive move to enhance road safety, Bengaluru Traffic Police have begun a city-wide crackdown on riders wearing half-helmets, helmets that do not provide full protection or fail to meet safety standards. These helmets, often used for convenience or style, are now under strict scrutiny from the authorities.

Traffic police have been stationed at multiple key locations across the city, stopping two-wheeler riders and issuing warnings against the use of half-helmets. They emphasized that wearing a helmet is not just a formality but a life-saving measure. Half-helmets, which leave parts of the head and face exposed, significantly increase the risk of injury during accidents.
The police have stated clearly that riders found wearing half-helmets will face immediate fines, with no exceptions. Even after repeated warnings in the past, many riders continue to use these unsafe helmets. In response, traffic police are determined to strictly enforce the rules, ensuring that only certified, full-coverage helmets are used on the road.
This crackdown is part of a broader initiative to reduce accidents and improve public safety in Bengaluru, where two-wheeler riders form a significant portion of road users. Traffic authorities warn that ignoring helmet safety regulations, including wearing half-helmets, will not be tolerated.
