In a deeply saddening turn of events, 29-year-old Akshay, who was declared brain-dead following a tree accident in Bengaluru’s Banashankari 1st Stage, has passed away. The young HR professional had been battling for his life in the ICU of Apollo Hospital, Jayanagar, after a massive tree branch fell on him last Sunday.

The incident occurred near Brahma Chaitanya Mandira around 1 PM and was captured on CCTV. Akshay, a resident of Srinivasanagar, was riding his two-wheeler when the large limb snapped and landed directly on him. The impact threw him off balance, causing a collision with a parked car, and he was flung to the ground unconscious.

He was first rushed to Prashanth Hospital by bystanders and later shifted to Apollo Hospital due to the seriousness of his head injuries. Doctors declared him brain-dead soon after admission. He remained on life support until Thursday afternoon, when his condition further deteriorated and he was officially declared deceased at 1 PM.

Akshay was the sole breadwinner in his family. Having lost his mother a year ago, he was caring for his ailing father, who is on dialysis, while also managing the household alone. His sudden death has left the family devastated, both emotionally and financially.

Outside Apollo Hospital, scenes of heartbreak unfolded as relatives wept inconsolably.
