Bengaluru witnessed a major traffic disruption as two heavy vehicles, a truck and a lorry, collapsed near the Kadugodi railway bridge. The incident occurred due to issues stemming from ongoing BMRCL metro construction work in the area. Locals and commuters were shocked as the vehicles caved in at the same location, raising serious safety concerns.

According to eyewitnesses, the metro construction team had failed to properly secure and cover the site, which led to a weakened road structure. This negligence resulted in the trucks collapsing into the ground, causing a major blockage in the already busy area. School buses and other daily commuters, who regularly use this route, were particularly affected.
Traffic movement came to a standstill as authorities rushed to the spot to clear the mess. Emergency crews and traffic police were seen managing the situation and redirecting vehicles to alternative routes. Meanwhile, questions were raised about the BMRCL’s safety protocols and the need for stricter oversight of construction sites in densely populated areas.
Parents and local residents expressed concern as school buses often use this route. Had the collapse occurred during peak school hours, the consequences could have been even more severe. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the incident and are expected to take corrective measures to ensure such lapses do not recur.
