The event, intended as a festive activity, included participants exchanging gift boxes, 20 of whom were directly involved in the Santa game. Police seized the gift boxes as part of their action against the unauthorized gathering.
Cubbon Park, a prominent public space in the city, requires prior approval from the horticulture department for events involving large crowds or organized activities. The absence of necessary permissions led to the authorities taking swift measures to ensure adherence to regulations.
The gathering, while festive in nature, highlights the importance of complying with guidelines to maintain order and preserve the integrity of public spaces. The police have urged event organizers to follow proper procedures in the future.
This incident serves as a reminder of the balance between celebrating community events and adhering to rules designed for public safety and resource management in shared urban spaces.
