Bengaluru’s Whitefield area is facing significant disruption due to the proliferation of unauthorized paying guest accommodations (PGs). These establishments, particularly concentrated in Prashant Layout, White Rose Layout, D’Silva Layout, and Upkar Layout, have become a hub for young professionals and students.

Residents of these PGs, including both young men and women, are causing disturbances at all hours, even into the early morning. Complaints have arisen regarding noise and unruly behavior, particularly from residents of nearby PGs. These disruptions include late-night drinking, smoking, and impromptu road parties, with instances of birthday celebrations spilling onto the streets and cakes being cut in front of neighboring homes.

Local residents are increasingly frustrated as these activities lead to a perpetual state of commotion, creating an uncomfortable environment, especially for young women living nearby. Despite numerous complaints lodged with authorities, including the Chief Minister, Home Minister, and Police Commissioner, no effective action has been taken.

Residents took to social media to voice their grievances, urging immediate intervention to restore peace and order. The unchecked growth of these PGs and the accompanying disturbances highlight a pressing issue that requires prompt attention from local authorities.
