  • Initiative taken by the Directorate of Urban Land Transport and KSRTC
  • Puttani Park is a pocket park

Puttani Park has been setup in the KSRTC colony, Shantinagar, Bengaluru. What was previously an unutilized area was transformed via an initiative by the Directorate of Urban Land Transport and the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). It is now a public space that is accessible by young children for playing and also safe at the same time. This was previously unavailable in the area. The parents and caregivers of the children can also gather in the area.

Puttani Park is a pocket park that is engaging for the children. To reach this end, a trail was conducted to assess how the children are responding to the development. A meeting was conducted with stakeholders in the community to get an understanding of what their needs are with respect to the public space being designed. The play spaces have also been designed keeping in mind that the playful activities that the children engage in would be mentally stimulating for them.
