Student’s competition and a section for the history of aviation in India are new additions
The schedule and ambitions of WINGS INDIA 2024, a flagship event on the civil aviation sector in India, to be held at the Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad between 18th January to 21st January was laid out in a roadshow in Hotel Lalit Ashok.
Remi Maillard, Chairman of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Civil Aviation Committee elucidated that this edition will be about the transformation of India into an aviation powerhouse. He stated that the Aeroshow would also tackle specific issues. “A core element of the aerospace ecosystem is talent development. Starting from pilots and until maintenance engineers. We shall also focus on innovation to make aerospace more efficient and decarbonised. It is also about pushing technology that is already available today and needs to be scaled up like sustainable aviation fuel,” he stated.
The theme for this edition of the event is “connecting India to the world in Amrit Kaal: setting the stage for Indian civil aviation at 2047”. The event would have the Global Aviation Summit and the Global CEOs forum among other events. “A student’s competition event and a section dealing with the history of aviation in India are new additions in this edition of the event,” Shri Asanga Chuba Ao, IAS, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation stated.
